in the Treatment of Cellulite

AWT delivered by using a ballistic head and pulsed mode (D-Actor) was effective for improving the appearance of cellulite in the majority of patients treated. The patients reported minimal side effects during and after treatment. The appearance of cellulite continued to improve throughout the 3-6 week follow-up period. The improvement is most apparent in the before and after photographs. A small decrease in thigh diameter is also seen.
In summary, AWT is an important new addition for improving the appearance of cellulite. The future should see its use alone and with other complementary therapies for improving the appearance of cellulite.

Patients clearly benefit from a reduction in the appearance of cellulite using acoustic wave therapy (AWT) 1 week after the last treatment (follow-up 1). The observed differences between treated and untreated legs are considerable with regard to the visual parameters of dimples (elevations and depressions), skin roughness, and skin elasticity.
This study demonstrates that AWT with the D-ACTOR 200 improves the visual appearance of cellulite in the gluteal-femoral region. While this study focused on the cosmetic effects of EPAT, it is theorized that the results achieved by acoustic wave stimulation may have resulted in improved lymph-drainage and microcirculation within the tissue. At follow-up 2 (3 months after the last treatment), the result was not only maintained, but the treated leg showed even further improvement. EPAT treatment with the D-ACTOR 200 appears to be a safe and effective treatment alternative for temporary improvement in the appearance of cellulite.
